The Honesdale Performing Arts Center is proud to announce its 2025–2026 theatrical season, featuring productions from the students of Wayne Highlands Middle School and Honesdale High School. Audiences can look forward to two dynamic musicals that highlight the dedication, talent, and creativity of local student performers and directors.
The season will begin this fall as Wayne Highlands Middle School proudly presents Annie, Jr. on November 21–22, 2025, under the direction of Lorissa Taraschuk. A timeless family favorite, Annie, Jr. tells the story of a spirited orphan who dreams of a brighter tomorrow. Set against the backdrop of 1930s New York City, Annie overcomes the hardships of Miss Hannigan’s orphanage and discovers a new home with billionaire Oliver Warbucks. Filled with beloved songs such as “It’s the Hard Knock Life” and “Tomorrow,” the production is a heartwarming reminder of resilience, hope, and the power of optimism.
In the spring, the spotlight shifts to Honesdale High School, which will proudly present Andrew Lloyd Webber’s School of Rock: The Musical on February 13–15, 2026, directed by Dr. Scott D. Miller. Adapted from the popular film, this high-energy musical follows Dewey Finn, an out-of-work rocker who poses as a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school. When he discovers his students’ hidden musical talents, Dewey forms a band of young rock stars to compete in the Battle of the Bands. With electrifying music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, School of Rock celebrates creativity, friendship, and the life-changing power of music.
“The Honesdale Performing Arts Center is proud to showcase the extraordinary talents of our students through productions that are both entertaining and inspiring,” said Dr. Scott D. Miller, Executive Director. “We invite the community to join us this season and experience the joy of live theatre.”
Both productions will be staged at the Honesdale Performing Arts Center, on the campus of Honesdale High School, where students will bring these beloved stories to life for the local community.
